Heritage Village Musicians

At The Homesteads

The Homesteads At Newtown Senior Living Community is hosting a series of events this summer to benefit The Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut.

Members of The Heritage Village Brush & Pencil Club recently began presenting a rotating exhibition of their original works until at least the middle of August. New works are added as those on view are sold; 25 percent of all artwork sales will be donation to the Alzheimer’s group.

The show includes watercolors, oils, acrylics, pastels, works in pen and ink, and works in colored pencils. The public is invited to visit the exhibition daily between 9 am and 8 pm.

In addition to the exhibition, internationally-renowned musicians from Heritage Village continue to share their talents during the Homesteads’ benefit concert series. Pianist King Bosworth, who recently offered “An Intimate Conversation for Two Pianos” with fellow musician Janet Somoroff-Lubell, will return to The Homesteads on August 1.

“An Afternoon of Music” will feature Mr Bosworth, mezzo-soprano Margaret Capen and violist David Vogel. The program will include diverse works of Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Rossini, Debussy, Chopin, and Richard Rogers.

The performance will begin at 2:30 pm and admission is a $10 contribution, which will be forwarded to The Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut.

For additional information or reservations call 426-8118. The Homesteads at Newtown is at 166 Mt Pleasant Road (Route 6).
