Huskies Hold Off Sharks For Title

The Huskies were able to hold off a late inning comeback by the Sharks to capture the Newtown Babe Ruth Baseball 11 year old championship with an 11-10 victory this past week.

The Huskies relied on strong pitching from Tess Davenport, Jimmy Davies, Tim Davis, and Cole Demirjian who came in to close it out. The Huskies were very aggressive on the base paths and got key hits from Jeremy Fisher, Sean McCleary, and Luke Melillo.

Strong defense from Jack McDonnell, Dominic Scalzo, Alex Katsuleres, and Matt Menousek preserved the victory.

The Sharks were led by the hitting of Harry Lucas, Robert Murray, John Finnegan, and Liam Deakin, and got strong pitching from Jamey Hobar, Ryan Mailloux, and Murray. Harry Lucas, Jimmy Doutney, Connor Dinallo, and Brandon Giglio all played hard in the field to keep the game close in this end of season thriller.
