An Incredible Day

For Regional Hospice

To the Editor:

June 12 turned out to be an incredible day for the Newtown Chapter of Regional Hospice! We held our 23rd Annual Breakfast at The Waterview on a wonderful sunny morning and the room was filled with over 375 people supporting this effort.

The donations of many beautiful items for the raffle, the generosity of John Royce and his staff who provided the breakfast and their services, and the participants in the raffle all made this breakfast a huge success. We appreciate all you did for us. The list of contributors is too lengthy to name here but you know who you are and how grateful we are to have you as part of this day.

Our committee of Marilyn Alexander, Janet Hovious, Maureen Crick Owen, Colleen Honan, Ellyn Gehrett, Linda Trentacosta, and Laurie Wrable worked tirelessly to make this successful as well.

Gail Honychurch, guest speaker, spoke of the great works provided by Hospice and the Healing Hearts programs. She told all present about the satisfaction and pleasure she gets from volunteering there and visiting with people who use the services of Hospice. Gail was extremely inspirational to all of us.

Of course, we could not forget to thank The Newtown Bee and Nancy Crevier for their usual great coverage of this event.

We are humbled to be a part of such a wonderful organization and it is a pleasure to say we raised $25,669.24 that morning and we are still counting! Thank you all.

Most sincerely,

Marie Sturdevant
