Wesley Rouse To Open
Personal Garden on July 15
SOUTHBURY â The public is invited to join Wesley Rouse, noted landscape designer and owner of Pine Meadow Gardens, Inc., a design-build landscape firm in Southbury, for an informative guided tour of his personal gardens.
With a background in plant science and landscape architecture, Mr Rouse, who has been creating gardens and growing plants for over 25 years, will talk about how he transformed his property from wild meadows and fields to a series of magnificent âgarden rooms.â He will also discuss his concept of connecting outdoor gardens with indoor spaces.
Covering six acres, Mr Rouseâs gardens feature an abundance of natural and visual beauty. Features include a pond, a pool, herbaceous borders, specimen trees and shrubs, wooded areas, a white garden, and spectacular pots and plantings.
Mr Rouse and his staff of landscape professionals will be on hand to provide insight and tips on color, texture, design and space.
The tour, a fundraising event for Southbury Historical Society, will take place on Sunday, July 15, from 3 to 6 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date will be Sunday, July 22.
Registration is required and must be received at the Southbury Historical Society by Wednesday, July 11. Cost is $35 per person ($25 for historical society members) and includes a wine and cheese reception.
Due to limited parking space availability, attendees will meet at the Southbury Medical Building parking lot at 22 Old Waterbury Road. A free shuttle bus to the gardens will leave the parking area approximately every 30 minutes from 3 to 5 pm. Southbury Historical Society staff will be there to direct.
This garden is not handicap accessible and attendees should wear appropriate footwear.
