Brianna Bauch Places First In Modeling Competition

Brianna Bauch, a 16-year-old rising senior at Newtown High School, was named the Overall Winner of the June 10 12th Annual Northeast Barbizon Acting and Modeling Competition, held in Massachusetts.

As one of 400 contestants, Brianna said she was judged by about 40 agents.

“Everyone in the competition was required to do a 15-second commercial, and walk the runway in front of a crowd of more than 1,000 people, while the agents scored each person individually,” said Brianna.

Going into the competition, Brianna said she was not expecting any sort of outcome, but hoped for at least one callback with an agent.

After ten hours at the competition, numerous awards and prizes were given out at an awards show, according to the NHS student. After all of the division winners were announced, Brianna said she still did not expect to win an award.

Then she was announced as the Overall Winner of the entire competition, with the highest score out of all the contestants.

With the win, Brianna earned two 100 percent covered scholarships to the Passport to Discovery cruise, she said. The cruise is for auditioned actors and models, and more than 100 agents  will be onboard. Brianna and her mother, Jane, are set to sail to the Cayman islands in October.  Brianna also earned a $2,000 scholarship to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in Manhattan; taught by professionals, the program can earn the high school student six college credits.

Following callbacks with 13 agents and managers, Brianna said some of them told her that she had the best commercial of the whole night, and she had them in tears because they laughed so hard.

“Some of the agents that were looking for a fashion runway model begged her to do the commercial again for them because she was so funny,” Brianna’s mother said.

Ms Bauch said her daughter is a beautiful person is many ways, both on and off the stage.

Brianna says she loves to act, and sing. She also said she has an open mind for her future, and is excited to see what will happen and where she will go from here.
