SFC Kevin T. Chiarito, 47, of Brunswick, Ga., formerly of Sandy Hook and Danbury, died Tuesday, October 2, at his home.
Mr Chiarito was born on June 5, 1965, in Port Chester, N.Y., the son of Louis Chiarito and the late Bernadette Chiarito. He was the husband of Paige (Shaw) Chiarito.
Mr Chiarito moved with his family to Danbury when he was a child. While attending Immaculate High School, he joined Phoenix Hose Company 8 and became the youngest certified EMT in the state at that time. Mr Chiarito graduated Immaculate High School in 1983 and Sacred Heart University in 1987 with a bachelor of arts and sciences, majoring in justice and law administration.
Mr Chiarito joined the United States Army in 1999. He was with the United States National Guard in Georgia at the time of his death, having served four tour of duties overseas.
He was an EMT/firefighter with Glen County Fire Department in Georgia and an honorary member of Phoenix Hose Company 8 in Danbury.
Mr Chiarito is survived by his daughters Cassidy, Taylorann, and Sydney Chiarito of Newtown; a son, Spencer Chiarito, of Brunswick, Ga.; his father, Louis Chiarito; brothers Lou Chiarito and wife Sharon, Sean Chiarito and wife Betsy, and Mark Chiarito and wife Colleen; and sisters Marie Murphy, Theresa Keeler and husband Patrick; an aunt, an uncle, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, October 13, at St Joseph, Danbury. Entombment will be in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street in Danbury, on Friday, October 12, from 4 to 8 pm.
