Hospital Providing Free Skin Cancer Screening

NEW MILFORD — The New Milford Hospital Regional Cancer Center is holding a free skin cancer screening on Saturday, July 28, from 9 am to noon by appointment. These screenings will be provided by physicians from Dermatology Associates of Western Connecticut.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, more than two million Americans develop skin cancer each year and one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Skin cancer is the most prevalent of all cancers, but fortunately, skin cancers are relatively easy to detect and most can be cured.

Even malignant melanoma, if caught in its early stages, can be treated successfully. The public is invited and encouraged to take advantage of this free screening.
