Farewell To

A Friend

Starr, the senior member of The Newtown Bee’s canine department, slipped the leash of life last week, a day after her 12th birthday. She contributed to our efforts here at the newspaper with her whole being, from her wet nose to her wagging tail, as a model of companionship, loyalty, and steadfast purpose. Throughout her long tenure at our office, she gave playful expression to our joy and deep consolation to our disappointments. We miss her very much and wish her great peace at whatever hearth she settles down on in the hereafter. We offer our condolences to her human family, the Baggetts, and pledge our support and understanding to the canine colleagues she leaves behind at The Bee office: Rosé, the golden retriever, and Tique, the chocolate lab.
