Dual DUI Arrests Made On I-84
State police report an unusual situation on Interstate 84 on the night of June 7, in which two people, who live at the same Southbury address, each were charged with driving under the influence and also with risk of injury to a minor.
State police report that they charged motorist Tracy Childs, 41, of 1484 Georges Hill Road, Southbury, with driving under the influence and with risk of injury to a minor following their investigation after her vehicle had become disabled on westbound Interstate 84, east of Exit 11, at about 7:35 pm.
There were two youths under age 16 in Childsâ vehicle at the time of the incident, state police said.
State police said that driver Lee Montanari, 44, who lives at the same address as Childs, then arrived at the incident with a child in the vehicle which he was driving at about 7:42 pm.
After investigating, state police charged Montanari with driving under the influence and with risk of injury to a minor.
After Montanari posted $500 bail, he was released for a June 16 appearance in Danbury Superior Court. State police released Childs on $1,500 bail for a June 23 court appearance.
