Father Of Four

Gary P. Loomis, 38, husband of Rita (Pavia) Loomis of Newtown, died unexpectedly December 25 in Oxford.

He was born in Danbury on February 11, 1968, a son of Howard Loomis of Norwalk and Alice J. (Clayton) Loomis of Newtown. He attended Newtown schools and was employed as a truck driver in the construction industry.

In addition to his wife and parents, three sons, Zachary and Michael of Newtown, and Hunter of Watertown; Mr Loomis is survived by a daughter, Autumn, of Watertown; two brothers, Charles Loomis of Newtown and Howard Loomis of Southbury; three sisters, Andrea Cappoziello and her husband, Tom, of Newtown, Arlene Casivant and her husband, Eugene, and Allison Loomis, all of Southbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, at 7 pm, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown. Cremation will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 7 pm.

A trust fund for the children of Gary Loomis has been set up at the Sand Hill Plaza branch of Newtown Savings Bank. Donations may be sent to  Children of Gary Loomis c/o Newtown Savings Bank, 250 South Main Street, Newtown CT 06470.
