The Newtown Middle School Drama Club will offer a free performance of its production of Fiddler on the Roof Jr for senior citizens on Thursday, March 31, at the middle school, 11 Queen Street.

The musical is scheduled for regular show times Friday and Saturday, April 1-2, at 7 pm; and Saturday and Sunday, April 2-3, at 2 pm.

Tickets are $10 for adults and children. Tickets are available for purchase online off of the school's website, newtown.nms.schooldesk.net.

Fiddler on the Roof Jr centers on the story of a father of five daughters of marriageable age, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family's lives.

The free presentation for local seniors, Thursday, March 31, will start at 2:45 pm. Complimentary tea, coffee, finger foods, and dessert will be provided in the school's cafeteria before the special showing of the production.

Local seniors thinking of attending the event are asked to make a reservation by calling Terri Greenfield at 203-426-7642.
