Leaders Needed For Discovery Workshop
Leaders Needed For Discovery Workshop
The annual Discovery Science, Math, and Technology workshop sponsored by the Newtown Junior Womenâs Club and the Board of Education is scheduled for February 10 at Newtown High School.
In order for the workshop to fit with current school curriculum, the name has been changed to include math and technological fields. The workshop will be held from 9 am to 11 am.
Once again, the sponsors are looking for volunteers from the community to lead two 45-minute hands-on workshops that will be attended by parent/child teams. The sessions will be held on Saturday, February 10, from 9 am to 11 am, with a snow date of March 3 at Newtown High School.
The workshop should be a hands-on presentation designed for kindergarten through second grade or third through fifth grade. The Newtown Junior Womenâs Club and Board of Education are looking for volunteers in science, math, and technology to come share with the children of the community.
An open house for interested or curious leaders will be held on Tuesday, November 28, at 7:30 pm at the Newtown Meeting House. This is a chance to look at some ideas for new workshops and meet other participants. If you would like to attend please call Dawn Escoda at 270-7541 or Maryann Ziman at 270-9040. If you can not attend but would like more information drop a note to NJWC, PO Box 217, Botsford, CT 06404.
