Workshop For Executive Jobseekers

FAIRFIELD — Sacred Heart University’s Stamford campus, located at 12 Omega Drive, is to host a workshop on Saturday, December 8, from 9 am to 2 pm on how to conduct a focused an effective job search. The cost for the full-day workshop is $59 per person.

For more information or to register contact Sacred Heart University’s Stamford campus at 203-323-4959 or send an email to jenningsd@sacredheart.edu by December 4.

The workshop will feature speakers Rawlin A. Fairbaugh, EdD, founding director of Sacred Heart University’s Luxembourg MBA program; Bob Pannone, author of Using Competitive Intelligence to Advance Your Career, and Ed Hendricks, author of Successful Business Networking.

The program is open to all but will be geared to those who have attained professional positions below the senior executive level. The program will include three separate components: identification of the right company/position; using competitive intelligence to structure a proposal for employment; and effective networking and selling of your skills to your targets.

“Unfortunately, the downturn in the economy has resulted in corporations downsizing. In addition to the layoffs that have occurred, others are likely to occur in the near future. Many individuals have not conducted a job search for quite some time and it is easy to fall into the trap of simply responding to ads or internet job postings. This workshop is certain to provide valuable information on how to conduct a search for a new position by discovering the unadvertised job market as well as positioning yourself to stand out in a crowd,” said Anthony Macari, director of Sacred Heart University’s Stamford campus.

“I think this workshop is really needed right now – attendees will be in a position to jump start their job search before the end of the year and the low cost will help those individuals who may not have received extensive outplacement services.”
