To Sandy Hook Details
Passport to Sandy Hook Committee Chairperson Maribeth Hemingway has announced details of The Second Annual Passport to Sandy Hook, a family-friendly event that will return to Sandy Hook Center on Saturday, October 6, from 11 am to 4 pm.
More than 25 Sandy Hook merchants and eateries are participating in the event, including recent addition Wesley Learning Center. The event is sponsored by the Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP).
On October 6, participants will be able to pick up their Sandy Hook Passport from any of the participating locations. As they walk from place to place enjoying the treats, samples, discounts, or other activities, they will receive a stamp. Completed passports will be entered into a drawing for a prize package valued at more than $1,700.
This yearâ event will include the following highlights: live music by John Voket starting at 11:30, live music by The Bobby Donaldson Band starting at 1 pm, and a live broadcast by i-95 FM starting at 1:30; a special performance by students of The Graceful Planet Moving Arts Center at 1:45; and visits with Baro and Newtown Canine Officer Felicia Figol at 2:30.
Additionally, visitors are reminded that Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company will be hosting a Touch-A-Truck location as well as sponsoring a âstuff-a-truckâ to benefit FAITH Food Pantry.
âThe FAITH Food Pantry had an overwhelming response the last time they asked, but as we head into the colder months, their shelves are emptying again and they need our help,â said Mrs Hemingway. âWe would appreciate it if visitors can bring a donation to help us support this cause.â
