Twelfth Night Event At NCC
Twelfth Night Event
At NCC
The public is invited to a free Twelfth Night Medieval Festival of music, dramatic readings, and feasting on Saturday, January 5, at 7:30 pm, at Newtown Congregational Church.
This Epiphany event is a commemoration of the coming of the Magi as the first manifestation of the Christ to the Gentiles as spoken of in Matthew 2.
The story of Christâs birth and the time immediately thereafter will be presented in a pageant by the Newtown Congregational Church Choir dressed in period costumes and with a dramatic presentation of the Boarâs head.
The choir will be joined by local singers and by Wendy Lucas, principal harpist with Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Ridgefield symphonies.
Highlight of the evening will be the crowning of the King and Queen from the audience. The entire production is being directed by Dan Coffman, the churchâs choir direct, and Maureen Kelly.
A reception with appropriate medieval foods will follow.
Newtown Congregational Church, at 14 West Street, can be reached for additional information by calling 426-9024.
