On Saturday, October 6, the Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP) will be hosting the second annual Passport to Sandy Hook celebration. This free event will showcase all that Sandy Hook has to offer.

Experience our fine eateries, shops, and stores. Enjoy the music and live broadcast of i95, sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank. Two local bands, John Voket and the Bobby Donaldson Band, will be performing. Visit the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company’s booth, where you can “stuff a truck” with nonperishable items to help the FAITH food pantry. Bring the kids to Betts Square at 107 Church Hill Road and let them enjoy the Bouncy House, courtesy of Pediatric Heart Specialists and Haas Insurance. And at all of your stops, get your “Passport” stamped by each of our 26 participating merchants for a chance to win one of our great prize packages.

The combined value of our three prize packages is over $2,300. The prizes feature gift certificates from many of our merchants, a wine tasting for six at McLaughlin Vineyards, a Christmas tree from the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company, and many other fine items donated by the Sandy Hook business community. The Grand Prize contains group tickets to a Sound Tigers Hockey game in Newtown Savings Bank’s corporate suite.

The event will run from 11 am until 4 pm, and will be held rain or shine. Hope to see you there.
