Celebrated Sandy Hook Violinist To Perform At Richter House This Month

Violinist Zoe Lonsinger will return by popular request for a performance at Richter House, 100 Aunt Hack Road in Danbury, on Sunday, May 22. Sponsored by Richter Association for the Arts, the recital will begin at 3 pm.
Zoe, from Sandy Hook, performed as a soloist with Waterbury Symphony in 2014, playing Wieniawski's
The 11-year-old studies privately with Joey Corpus in Manhattan. She has also performed several solo recitals including benefit performances, public recitals, and home concerts; and has participated in masterclasses with Ray Chen, Paul Huang, Brian Lewis, Benjamin Beilman, Enzo String Quartet, and John Carney.
Zoe also enjoys playing chamber music and has been coached in piano sonatas and piano trios with Eileen Buck and participated in Cuatro Puntos' Chamber Music for Peace workshop in 2016. She has attended summer ÃÂ programs, including a Summer Chamber Music Workshop led by Allison Eldredge and Yoshi Akimoto, both taking place in Connecticut last year; the International Music Festival and Institute in 2013, Sound Encounters in 2011, and Waterville Valley Music Center Chamber Music Festival in 2010.
Zoe was a scholarship recipient for the International Music Festival and Institute in 2013. After that festival, she was invited as part of a select group to participate in a five day tour in the Baltimore area, performing eight performances as both a soloist and part of a piano trio. In addition, Zoe has received awards in the Muse International Competition in Santorini Greece (2015), Rondo Vanguard Competition (2015), Vivo Music Competition (2015), New York Music Competition (2014 and 2015), American Protégé Competition (2014), Bravura Concerto Competition (2014 and 2015), the National League of Performing Arts Concerto Competition (2014), and Danbury Music Centre Concerto Competition (2013 and 2015).
She has especially enjoyed performing in Carnegie Weill Hall as part of winners recitals for New York Music Competition, Rondo Vanguard Competition, and American Protégé Competition.
In addition to playing her violin, Zoe loves to read, dance, play games with her family, and learn about history and dolphins.
For the May 22 recital, Zoe will be accompanied by Andrew Gordon.
Mr Gordon is a graduate of New England Conservatory and Juilliard School; music director and choirmaster at Diamond Hill UMC in Cos Cob; and principal keyboard player of Greenwich Symphony. He is often heard as a chamber musician with the orchestra's principal members, with whom he performed last October in Beethoven's
A social hour with refreshments will follow the 60-minute recital. The audience will be invited to mingle and meet the performers during that time.
