Corey DeVellis, son of Ken and Lisa DeVellis of Sandy Hook, attended the Writers Workshop at Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, Penn. Corey participated in the fiction section as he hopes to become a professional author.

Emily Loose, daughter of Judy Loose and David Loose of Newtown, participated in the Women in the Sciences and Engineering (WISE) Camp summer program at Penn State’s University Park campus. Emily will be a junior at NHS this fall.

Meredith Lynn Schlesinger received a bachelor’s degree from the Lerner College of Business and Economics, University of Delaware, Newark.

Kelly Anne Conant, a senior fine arts major in the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Delaware, has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester.

Colleen Gantnier, daughter of Kevin and Barbara Gantnier of Newtown, has earned her associate degree in baking and pastry arts from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Colleen received the CIA’s Cream of the Crop and High Impact Leader Scholarships, the college’s Presidential Award, and a scholarship from SkillsUSA. She will continue her education at CIA this fall, pursuing a baccalaureate degree in baking and pastry arts management.

Michael Troy, son of Michael and Joan Troy of Newtown, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Fairfield University. Michael, a finance major, is a member of the Men’s Soccer Team and was named a member of the MAAC All Conference and All Academic Teams.

Devin Glass, son of Dr and Mrs William Glass of Newtown, received his degree in film scoring from Berklee College of Music, Boston. Devin was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester and was one of three winners in the 2006 Boston Film Festival for original score.

Melissa Landin, daughter of Dr and Mrs Steven Landin of Newtown, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Fairfield University. Melissa also was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international society for collegiate schools of business, this past April.
