Open Hearts And Facilities
Open Hearts And Facilities
(The following letter to John Sweeney, administrator of Masonicare of Newtown, has been received for publication.)
Dear Mr Sweeney:
On behalf of a very grateful Emergency Management Team we would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff at Masonicare for opening your hearts and facility to our residents of Newtown during Superstorm Sandy.
Once again the community found itself in the grips of yet another storm and again without hesitation you opened doors to those in need. Several of our residents were transported to your facility so they could remain within the community in a warm and safe environment. I myself took advantage of the facility for a hot comforting shower. Each time a resident came through the doors they were greeted by welcoming staff that always had a smile and encouraging word for us.
During this season of Thanksgiving we as the Emergency Management Team and community residents thank you and your wonderful staff for being there for us, not just in our time of need but always as a partner with the community.
Sincerely,
Maureen Will
