Armando Tomaino

Armando Tomaino, 99, of Bethel, died peacefully May 16, at his home. He was the husband of the late Mary (Corona) Tomaino. Born August 18, 1918, in Italy, he was the son of the late Raffaele and Rosina Tomaino.

He retired after working as a chef at Armando's Restaurant in Bethel, which he owned with his brothers until the early 1970s. After selling his restaurant, he worked as a custodian at Newtown Middle School for many years. Mr Tomaino proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II.

His nephews, his niece, and many great- and great-great nieces and nephews survive him.

His brothers, Anthony and John Tomaino; and his sisters, Grace Tomaino, Teresa Scalzo, and Antoinette Gimigliano, predeceased him.

A funeral mass will be Wednesday, May 23, at 10 am at St Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 8 Robinson Avenue, Danbury. Burial with full military honors will be in St Peter's Cemetery, Danbury.
