Gary Reginald Walker, 71, of Red Oak, Texas, died May 17, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on September 28, 1946, the son of Thomas R. and Tannis Walker.

Mr Walker grew up and attended school in Sandy Hook. While living in Sandy Hook, he was a volunteer fireman with the fire department for many years. He was also the youngest member of the gun club. Mr Walker's passion in life was cars; race cars, hot rods, NASCAR - he loved them all. He was an extremely skilled mechanic and could build or fix anything on a car. Mr Walker taught automotive classes for high school students and found a special calling to help teenagers. He took them under his wing and guided them any way he could. He was also an avid hockey fan, and after his move to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, he became a fan of the Dallas Stars. His loved ones say he was a strong presence in his family and will be missed.

His loving wife of 50 years, Linda D. Walker; daughters, Tannis Lambert and her husband, Greg, and Kelly Lampitt and her husband, Tom; grandchildren, Jasmine and her husband, Jared, Tanner, Marjorie, Angela, and Ryan; brother, Ross Walker; and many friends survive him.

His parents, Thomas and Tannis Walker, and his brother, Donald Walker, predeceased him.

A Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, May 26, at 10 am, at First Red Oak, 320 East Ovilla Road, Red Oak, Texas, with Pastor Jared Douglas officiating.
