Eileen H.      Artruc

Eileen H. Artruc, 86, of Taunton Hill Road died March 28 in Danbury Hospital after a short illness.

Mrs Artruc was the wife of the late Raymond E. Artruc.

She was born in Boston, Mass., on January 11, 1918, a daughter of the late Frank L. and Ida (Hinckley) Harrington.

Mrs Artruc was working on Naushon Island, Mass., where she met her late husband in 1935. They were married in 1937.

They both came to Newtown in 1939 and worked for the Charles C. Colt family and later Mr and Mrs Herman Jervis. Mr and Mrs Artruc were married for 65 years.

Eileen was a founding member of the Rocking Rooster Square Dance Club. She was in the club’s first class and graduated in 1962. She was a life member of the Pootatuck Grange of which she had held several leadership positions.

Mrs Artruc is survived by a brother, Frank Harrington of Tennessee and by a sister, Ava Kent of Boston. Also survived by a nephew, Raymond L. Martin, Sr, of Vernon; and a niece, Dorothy Martin of Cumberland Hill, R.I.

A graveside committal service was held March 31 at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston, R.I.
