Summer Playshop Will Be Led,
In Part, By Student Directors
WILTON â Wilton Playshopâs 2006 Wilton Student Summer Playshop (WSSP) will be directed by long-time Playshop director and past president Skip Ploss.
Mr Ploss has directed two WSSP productions, Guys and Dolls (1995) and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as well as Wenceslas Square for the Wilton High School Underclassmen Theatre Project in 2005. Mr Ploss has also directed Arsenic and Old Lace and 1776 for The Playshop and The Foreigner for Westport Community Theatre.
The show chosen by The Playshop and Mr Ploss for 2006 WSSP is a collection of one-act plays by the noted contemporary playwright David Ives. Mr Ivesâ work may be familiar to Wilton audiences, having been presented by the Wilton Playshop Lab/Workshops group in 2002.
The concept this summer is a different one in a significant way. For the first time in recent memory the student production will be co-directed by six student directors. Those students entering ninth grade through age 22 who are interested in participating should contact Mr Ploss at skip@WiltonPlayshop.org.
For further information see the WSSP section of The Playshopâs website (WiltonPlayshop.org).
