Barbara B. Kerans

Devoted And Loving Mother And Grandmother

Barbara B. Kerans, 74, of Sandy Hook, died May 30 at Danbury Hospital. Ms Kerans was born in Medford, Mass., a daughter of Margaret (Ainsley) and John M. Kerans. A resident of Sandy Hook for five years, Ms Kerans was a longtime resident of Westchester County, N.Y.

She is survived by her three sons, Richard F. Smith of Sandy Hook, Ronald E. Smith and his wife, Paula, of Brookfield, and Douglas A. Smith and his wife, Karen, of Wrentham, Mass. Two grandchildren; two brothers; a sister; and her many friends at Walnut Tree Village survive her as well.

Ms Kerans attended Newtown Senior Center.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 6, from 4 to 7 pm, at the Walnut Tree Village Clubhouse, Sandy Hook. Interment in Newtown Village Cemetery will be private.

The Honan Funeral Home, Newtown, is assisting the family.
