Beloved Father And Friend
Paolo Cristiano Maria Nacinovich, the father of former Newtown resident Lisa Walsh-Srogi of Terryville, died on September 5. He was born in Rijeka, Yugoslavia, on July 24, 1942, son of Firmino and Elena (Massari) Nacinovich.
He emigrated with his family to Italy after World War II, came to the United States in 1962, became a US citizen, and always lived in Connecticut, where he worked for companies such as Prudential Insurance and Curtiss & Crandon Insurance Co. He was last employed at Carabetta Security-Harbor Park and will be missed by his best friends William Graham and Ralph Serano.
He is also survived by daughters Amy Cowen of Concord, Mass., and Nina Nacinovich of Southbury; two grandchildren, Julia Fluman and Jay Srogi IV of Terryville; a brother, Luciano Nacinovich of Florence, Italy; an ex-wife, Joan Nacinovich and her children, Jeff and Sandra Samoncik, and their spouses Ralph Lockman and Melissa, and their children, Madison and Jack.
There will be no calling hours. Cremation will be private. The scattering of his ashes will take place September 16 at Castle Craig in Meriden at 6 pm.
