For just a few more days, local residents can enjoy “Life Studies: pastel paintings & drawings” at Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury.A solo exhibition of works by the portrait artist Laura Bleau, the collection is on view until February 21.Ms Bleau, a longtime resident of Newtown, works in pastel focusing on portraiture and figurative works in the tradition of classical realism, working primarily from life in natural light. Shown here is “Woman with Dachshunds (Ms Susan Retter with Moose and Macy),” a 2014 pastel on pumice board that measures 20 by 24 inches.The library is at 23 South Street in Roxbury; telephone 860-350-2181.
