Summer Readers
To the Editor:
Congratulations to the more than 600 children who participated in the C.H. Booth Library’s Summer Reading Program “Dig Into Reading.” The success of this program is due to the efforts of many: our dedicated library staff, our community partners and the 69 young adult volunteers who donated 769 hours listening to reading reports and awarding incentives.
A special thanks to My Place for the thousands of free pizza slices they’ve donated over the years and to Dunkin Donuts for providing countless free donuts to eager readers. We’ve come to count on their support, but we never take it for granted.
I would also like to recognize the Westerners Baseball organization, Golf Quest in Brookfield, Ferris Creamery, Peachwave, Edmond Town Hall Theatre, Cave Comics, The Toy Tree, Newtown Nail Spa, and Good Ideas for providing prizes for our raffle.
And last but not least, I’d like to recognize our readers, and the family and friends that encouraged them to set reading goals and keep them during a busy and active summer. Now that school has begun, don’t wait until next summer to check out a book in a favorite series or catch up with one of your favorite characters.
