Golf Fundraiser For Cystic Fibrosis

SOUTHBURY — The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will hold its 16th Annual 65 Roses Golf Classic and Dinner presented by Crompton Corporation on Monday, August 16. Golfers will tee off simultaneously at Watertown Golf Club and Southbury’s Heritage Village Country Club.

The Hilton in Southbury will be the site of the evening’s festivities, which will include dinner, raffles, and live and silent auctions.

Entry fee is $250 per player, which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, green and cart fees, and a tee gift. Each course is limited to 30 foursomes and is filled on a first come, first served basis. Tickets for the evening festivities at the Hilton Southbury are $100 per person. Corporate packages and sponsorships are also available.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease affecting a large number of children and young adults in the United States. CF causes the body to produce an abnormally thick, sticky mucus, which clogs the digestive system and airways and leads to life-threatening lung infections. More than ten million Americans (one in 31) are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. There is no cure for CF, but there is hope.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to assure the development of the means to cure and control CF and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.

For more information about this event, call the Connecticut Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at 800-841-2828, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:30 pm.
