Newtown High School's girls' golf team won its first match of the season. The Nighthawks went to Fairfield's Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course and defeated Notre Dame-Fairfield on April 17. The Nighthawks shot 215, and the Lancers a 263. Sarah Houle led the way with a 41, Liz Weisgerber shot a 55, Nidhi Mukka 56, and Kira Kelly 63.

The boys improved to 3-0 with a 186-209 victory over host New Milford at Candlewood Valley Country Club, on April 12. Jack Heinlein shot a 44, David Brestovansky 46, Ryan Patrick 47, Tim Davis 49, Jake Mailloux 53, and Ryan Kost 56.
