Diane Lynn    Kursawe
Diane Lynn Kursawe, 45, beloved wife of John W. Kursawe of Monroe, died December 15 at St Vincentâs Medical Center, Bridgeport, following a sudden illness. She was a former resident of Sandy Hook.
Born in Bronx, N.Y., on November 22, 1955, she was the daughter of Joan M. (Ebert) Nicholson of Alaska, and the late Arthur J. Vogel. A Monroe resident for most of her life, she was a 1973 graduate of Masuk High School, and attended Albertus Magnus College and Southern Connecticut State University. Mrs Kursawe was employed by the Daimler Chrysler Capital Company of Norwalk, where she worked as an office manager. She enjoyed the theater and was an avid actress, performing in the Newtown and Brookfield playhouses.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her beloved son, Brian A. Kursawe of Monroe; brother, Gregg Vogel and his wife, Mary, of New York; and sisters Gale Lawson and her husband, Mark, of Watertown, and Victoria Morrissey and her husband, John, of California. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Megan and Sean Kersawe of Bethel, Megan Morrissey of California, Erin Vogel of New York, and Scott Lawson of Watertown.
Funeral services were held December 20 in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 466 Elm Street, Monroe. Interment followed in Stepney Cemetery, Monroe.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diane Kursawe Memorial Fund in care of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
The Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike (Route 111), Monroe, was in charge of arrangements.
