Campus Notes

Taylor Jacob Schmidt of Newtown is the recipient of two scholarships from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan., which he attends. Taylor received the Anderson Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 and the Legacy Scholarship for $3,000.

Newtown resident Christopher Espy has been promoted to the rank of specialist in the 102D Army Band in Bristol. Christopher has been a member of the Connecticut National Guard for six months. He plays trombone in the concert, marching. and jazz bands. He is a performance major at the University of Connecticut.

Students Nicole Boggs, Rachel Rowan, and Mary LoPiccolo have attained high honors for the first quarter at Lauralton Hall. The following Lauralton Hall students have achieved honors for the first marking period: Sharmila Corson, Jennifer Kalbacher, Jocelyn Gaudett, Allison Kirk, Ashley Braun, Patricia Culligan, Anne LoPiccolo, Katelyn Power, Annemarie Davis, Kelsey DeCesare, Meagan Kelly, Mary Kopcik, Margaret Morrissey, and Margaret Thompson.
