Michael Thomas Johnson

Michael Thomas Johnson, 16, of 187 Aspetuck Ridge Road, New Milford, died on June 4 in Norwalk.

He was the brother of Jamie Thomas of Newtown.

Michael was born in New Haven, September 13, 1984, a son of Alexandra (Wenzel) Thomas of New Milford and Mark Johnson of New Milford.

He was a member of the Junior Class of New Milford High School. He was a varsity wrestler, played freshman and sophomore football, and was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America – NMHS Chapter. He also played football with the New Milford Bulls. He was a ropes course facilitator at a summer camp. Michael loved skiing, music, drawing, his dog Molly, and being with family and friends.

Besides his parents and brother, he is survived by his stepfather, Terry Thomas of New Milford; four other brothers, Mathew Johnson of New Milford, Mark Johnson and Jeff Johnson, both of Bridgeport, and Drew Thomas of New Milford; several aunts and uncles, Tom and Melissa Wenzel of New Milford, Karen and Tom Gray of Florida, Judi Nadler of New York and Mike and Laura Johnson of Shelton.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 8, at 2:30 pm at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford. Internment will be in Center Cemetery, New Milford.

Calling hours were scheduled at the Lillis Funeral Home, Thursday, June 7, from 6 to 9 pm, and Friday, from 1:30 until the time of the service.

Contributions in his memory may be sent to Alexandra Thomas, 187 Aspetuck Ridge Road, New Milford, CT 06776 to assist the Teen Suicide Prevention Programs in New Milford.
