Motorist Lisa Pollock, 41, of 10 Elana Lane, who was driving a 2001 Nissan Altima, was stopped in the eastbound lane of Wasserman Way at its intersection with Route 34 at about 6:16 pm February 20, police said.

Motorist Geoffrey Mukwaya, 51, of 15 Fawnwood Road, who was driving a 2001 BMW 530-I sedan, was stopped behind the Nissan, police said.

On thinking that the Nissan had moved forward, Mukwaya advanced and the BMW lightly struck the rear end of the Nissan, police said. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Mukwaya for following too closely.

Saab Off Road

Motorist Lindsay Chimileski, 17, of 22 Walnut Tree Hill Road was driving a 1994 Saab 900-S coupe eastward on Reservoir Road about 11:10 pm February 21, when the Saab went off the eastbound road shoulder and struck two stonewalls and a mailbox, police said.

Chimileski was not injured, police said. Police issued Chimileski an infraction ticket for making an improper turn.

Tractor-Trailer

Tractor-trailer truck driver Robert Bates, 39, of Danbury was driving northward on South Main Street about 2:30 pm February 23, when the truck snagged some low-hanging utility lines, police report. Bates was not injured. Police said they are investigating.

Larceny Charges

Police said that they and the Newtown High School security unit had received reports of thefts from three lockers in the boys' locker room at the high school on February 26. The thefts involved cash taken from three unlocked lockers during school hours, police said.

Based on a witness's report, police later charged Robert Marus, 16, of 25 Pepperidge Road, lodging three counts of sixth degree larceny against him. Police said they seized less than $50 from Marus on his arrest.

After processing the arrest, police released Marus for a March 9 appearance at Danbury Superior Court.

Far View Burglary

On February 26, police charged three youths under age 16 each with third degree burglary and with fourth degree larceny in connection with those crimes having occurred at a Far View Drive residence. The burglary charges are felonies.

Because the youths are juveniles, their identities are shielded from disclosure by police. Police released the three youths into the custody of their parents. The youths are scheduled to appear in Danbury Juvenile Court on March 8.

Subaru Vs Subaru

Police report a two-car accident on South Main Street near the Botsford Firehouse about 12:45 pm February 26.

Motorist Elaine Kruzansky, 40, of Brookfield, who was driving a 1999 Subaru Legacy, was making a left turn into the driveway at the firehouse, when the Legacy collided with a 2003 Subaru Impreza driven by Beth Murphy, 45, of Bridgeport, police said. There were no injuries. The accident is under investigation.

South Main Collision

Motorist Richard Washburn, 32, of 13 Obtuse Road, who was driving a 2002 Chrysler Sebring sedan southward on South Main Street about 1:12 pm February 26, slowed and signaled to make a left turn onto Pecks Lane North, police said.

At that time, motorist Thomas Peterson, 55, of Bethel, who was driving a 2002 Dodge Intrepid sedan southward just behind the Chrysler, took his eyes off the road and drove into the rear end of the Chrysler, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Peterson a written warning for following too closely.

Buick Vs Chevrolet

Motorist Christopher Mahmood, 17, of 3 Floral Heights Road, who was driving a 1994 Buick Regal, was attempting to pull out of the driveway of the Botsford Drive-In at 282 South Main Street at about 4:40 pm February 27, as motorist Deung Iang, 44, of Danbury was driving a 1989 Chevrolet van southward on South Main Street, police said.

The Buick pulled out onto South Main Street in front of the Chevrolet and the two vehicles collided, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Mahmood an infraction ticket for failure to grant the right of way.

Ford Hits Wall

Motorist Jenna Wilkie, 17, of 23 Castle Meadow Road was driving a 1999 Ford Windstar minivan near 92 Huntingtown Road at about 3:30 pm February 26, when the Ford hit some curbing, went out of control, crossed the street and then struck a stone wall, police said. Wilkie was not injured, police said. Police issued Wilkie a written warning for making a restricted turn.

Chain Reaction

A three-vehicle chain reaction accident occurred on southbound South Main Street, south of its intersection with Greenbriar Lane, about 7 am February 27, police report.

Motorist Manuel Pascual, 44, of Danbury, who was driving a 1989 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, stopped and was waiting to make a left turn into a commercial driveway, police said. Motorist Samuel Cousins, 50, of Sherman, who was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Passat sedan, then stopped behind the Dodge, police said.

Motorist Thomas Schimenti, 19, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2002 Jeep Wrangler sport-utility vehicle, failed to realize that the two vehicles ahead of him had stopped, police said.

The Jeep drove into the rear end of the Volkswagen, pushing the Volkswagen into the rear end of the Dodge. There were no injuries. Police gave Schimenti an infraction ticket for following too closely.

SUV Accident

Motorist Herbert Corbett, 50, of Prospect was driving a 1996 GMC Yukon sport-utility vehicle westward on Interstate 84, east of Exit 11, about 9 am February 27, when an object that was loaded onto a nearby Toyota T-100 pickup truck fell off the truck and struck the GMC, state police said. State police did not identify the Toyota's driver. Corbett was not injured.

Traffic Signal

Motorist Nalinle Frechette, 31, of Nashua, N.H., was driving a 1992 Toyota Corolla eastward on Church Hill Road at about 8:30 pm February 27, and did not stop for a red traffic signal at Church Hill Road's intersection with Commerce Road, police said. The Toyota then collided with a 2001 Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by Jason Feli, 27, of 76 Parmalee Hill Road, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Frechette an infraction ticket for a traffic signal violation.

Seven Charged

Police said they charged seven youths from Stratford with simple trespassing late on the night of February 28, after the youths were found trespassing at Fairfield Hills, in the vicinity of Timber Lane.

Charged with simple trespassing were: Adrienne Wiltsie, 16; Ronald Stasko, 17; Vincent Medrek, 18; Konstantinos Tournas, 17; Matthew George, 17; Christopher Stefan, 17, and Rachel Heyer, 16, police said.

State police were notified of the problem, town police said. Simple trespassing carries a $92 fine. If the youths want to contest the charges, they may appear March 12 in Danbury Superior Court.

I-84 Crash

Motorist Samira Paparo, 24, of Waterbury was driving a 1998 Toyota Corolla westbound on Interstate 84 near Exit 11 about 12:30 am February 29, when the auto went off the road and struck a tree, state police said.

The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Paparo and passenger Michael Rivera, 4, to Danbury Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, state police said.

State police said Paparo was driving an unregistered vehicle.

Arrest Warrant

After learning midday on March 2 that Albino Darocha, 33, of Naugatuck was in state police custody, Newtown police served an arrest warrant against Darocha, lodging criminal charges of second degree failure to appear in court and sixth degree larceny.

Newtown police originally arrested Darocha on a warrant last November 29, lodging a charge of sixth degree larceny.

After processing the case, police released Darocha on $1,000 bail for a March 16 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Charges Follow Accident

Police said that they learned on March 3 of a two-vehicle that had occurred on Toddy Hill Road. After investigating the crash, police charged motorist Nicole Tardiff, 20, of 43-A Botsford Hill Road with driving under suspension and with following too closely. Police said Tardiff is slated to appear March 17 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
