Trinidad P. Mortera

Trinidad P. Mortera, 85, wife of Dr Bromeo Z. Mortera of Newtown, died January 21 in Danbury Hospital after a long illness.

Mrs Mortera was born in the Philippines on May 21, 1921, a daughter of Domingo and Dionesa (Democles) Pacis. She graduated from the National College of the Philippines and was an elementary school teacher in the Philippines before her retirement from teaching.

A resident of Newtown since 1980, Mrs Mortera was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Parish.

In addition to her husband, her seven children, Herbert Mortera and Archie Mortera of Newtown, Evelyn Mortera of Guam, Bronida Agustin of Aloha, Ore., Thelma Hernandez of Richmond, Va., Romeo Mortera of Beaverton, Ore., and Elmer Mortera of Fremont, Calif., survive Mrs Mortera. Twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Adelaida Nera of Portland, Ore., and Mameng Pacis, Iloilo, Philippines, survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated January 25 in St Rose of Lima Church. Interment followed in Resurrection Cemetery.
