Toyota vs Object
Police said motorist Clayton Gattey, 16, of 13 Diamond Drive was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla sedan southward on Tunnel Road, near Barnabas Road, about 10:50 pm on June 19, when the auto struck an unspecified object on the roadway. Gattey was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Boggs Road at Sugar Street
At about 12:12 pm on June 23, motorist Justin Russo, 19, of 47 Sugar Lane, who was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus sedan, stopped at a stop sign on Boggs Hill Road at its intersection with Sugar Street, police said.
Motorist Miles Dobbrow, 19, of 12 Pole Bridge Road, who was driving a 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan, then stopped behind the Ford, police said.
To avoid some approaching traffic on Sugar Street, the Ford backed up, but in doing so the rear end of the Ford struck the Honda, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Russo for unsafe backing.
Leaf Blower Gone
Sometime between 10 pm on June 25 and 10:50 am on June 26, someone entered an unsecured storage shed at a Hanover Road property and stole a backpack-style leaf blower, police said. The property is in the area where Interstate 84 crosses above Hanover Road.
Police are investigating and ask those with knowledge of the incident to contact Officer Steven Borges at the police station at 203-426-5841.
Accident On Beaver Dam Road
Police report a one-car accident on Beaver Dam Road about 9:13 am on June 27. Beaver Dam Road is a dirt road that links Brushy Hill Road to the intersection of Platts Hill Road, Hundred Acres Road, and Palestine Road.
Police report that motorist Maggie Wruck, 16, of 6 Fairchild Drive was driving a 2012 Toyota Corolla sedan eastward on Beaver Dam Road, when it veered off the right road shoulder and struck a tree near 14 Beaver Dam Road.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Wruck a written warning for making a restricted turn.
SUV vs Culvert
Motorist Deanna Lasco, 18, of New Fairfield was driving a 2010 Honda CRV SUV northward near 177 Brushy Hill Road at about 11 am on June 27, when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a culvert along the right road shoulder, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Lasco for making a restricted turn.
Intersection Collision
A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Orchard Hill Road and South Main Street about 4:48 pm on June 30, according to police.
Motorist Elle Aryeh, 45, of 57 Eden Hill Road, who was driving a 2014 Buick Enclave SUV eastward on Orchard Hill Road, stopped at a stop sign before attempting to make a left turn onto northbound South Main Street, police aid.
At that time, motorist Gregory Jurman, 27, of 21 Pebble Road, who was driving a 2013 Ford Focus sedan northward on South Main Street, stopped in preparing to turn left onto westbound Orchard Hill Road, police said.
The Buick then started to turn and the two vehicles collided, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Aryeh a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
SUV vs Deer
Police said that at about 5 am on July 1, motorist Lisa Dudas, 61, of 20 Waterview Drive was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV southward near 125 Toddy Hill Road, when a deer ran out onto the road and collided with the vehicle.
Dudas was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Interstate Crash
State police report a two-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 84 about one-half west of Exit 9 at about 2:05 pm on July 1.
Motorist Loren Siegel, 69, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry sedan, attempted to make a lane change, but collided with motorist Michael Rehm, 33, of Waterbury, who was driving a Ford Taurus sedan, state police said.
There were no injuries. Siegel received an infraction for making an unsafe lane change, state police said.
Wasserman Way
Police report a two-vehicle collision on Wasserman Way, near its intersection with Berkshire Road about 4 pm on July 1.
Motorist Rosemarie Garofalo, 64, of Shelton, who was driving a 1997 Porsche Boxster roadster eastward on Wasserman Way, struck the rear end of a 2011 Acura MDX SUV driven by Robert Baluha, 67, of Shelton, police report.
There were no injuries. Garofalo received a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said.
Sedan vs SUV
About 1,000 feet east of Exit 10 on eastbound Interstate 84 at about 5:46 pm on July 1, motorist Junjun Gao, 35, of Livingston, N.J., who was driving a 2000 Acura TL sedan, struck the rear end of a 2013 Audi Q-5 SUV driven by Jayacahandra Nagaram, 30, of Woodbury, according to state police.
There were no injuries. Gao received an infraction for following too closely, state police said.
Truck Accident
Motorist John Mazako, 33, of Oxford was driving a 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck westward on Sugar Street, near its intersection with Floral Heights Road, about 8 am on July 2, when the vehicle collided with a deer that was on the roadway, police said.
Mazako was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Coupe vs Deer
Motorist Maria Dacruz, 51, of Danbury was driving a 2013 Subaru Impreza coupe westward near 148 Sugar Street about 5:45 pm on July 2, when a deer ran out onto the road, resulting in a collision, police report. Dacruz was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Church Hill Road Accident
Police report a two-vehicle accident on Church Hill Road, near Commerce Road, about 7 pm on July 2.
In that incident on eastbound Church Hill Road, motorist Jessica Villa, 19, of Danbury, who was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty SUV, struck the rear end of a 2010 Honda CRV SUV driven by Tammy Mikita, 48, of 2 Quarry Ridge Road, police said.
Mikita was transported to Danbury Hospital, police said. Villa received a written warning, police said.
Two Charges
Police report that they stopped motorist Peter Filosi, 31, of Bethel about 9:26 pm on July 4 near 206 Sugar Street to investigate.
Police said they charged Filosi with failure to drive to the right and with driving with a suspended license.
Police released Filosi on $1,000 nonsurety bail for a July 16 court appearance.
SUV vs SUV
At about 1:33 pm on July 3, motorist Lucia Grisko, 59, of Southbury, who was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor SUV eastward on Berkshire Road, near Toddy Hill Road, slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by eastbound motorist Robert McCabe, 16, of 5 far Horizon Drive, who was driving a 2007 Dodge Durango SUV, according to police.
There were no injuries. Police said that McCabe failed to drive a reasonable distance apart.
DUI Arrest
Police said they responded to a report of an erratically driven vehicle about 3:50 am on July 4 and then stopped motorist Jason Brander, 37, of Stratford near 77 Main Street to investigate.
Police said they charged Brander with driving under the influence. After posting $100 bail, Brander was released for a July 22 court appearance, according to police.
SUV Carrying Six People Rolls Over Alongside I-84
State police and Hawleyville volunteer firefighters responded to a report of a one-vehicle rollover accident about 6:17 am on July 4 on eastbound Interstate 84, west of Exit 9. State police said motorist Rolendio Ronny Perez Valazquez, 22, of Springfield, Mass., was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer SUV carrying five passengers, when he fell asleep at the wheel and drove off the right side of the road, resulting in the vehicle rolling over onto its right side.
All six people were able to get themselves out of the vehicle, state police said. There were no injuries.
State police said Valazquez received an infraction for failure to drive in the established lane and for driving without a license.

Acura Off Road
Motorist Amy Fagan, 38, of Milford was driving a 2013 Acura TSX sedan southward near 227 Hattertown Road about 4:41 pm on July 4, when the auto went out of control on the wet pavement, drove off the right road shoulder and then struck some guardcabling, police said.
Fagan was not injured. Police said they issued her a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.
Ford Collision
At about 7:42 pm on July 4, motorist Howell Jobbins, 74, of Trumbull was driving a 2008 Ford Escape SUV northward near 201 South Main Street, when a deer entered the roadway, resulting in a collision, police said.
Jobbins was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Larceny Charges
Police said that on the evening of July 5, after learning that police held a warrant for him, Robert Andreotta, 19, of 16 Orange Pippin Road turned himself over to police at the police station and was charged with three separate counts of sixth-degree larceny involving alleged thefts that occurred at an unspecified location in May and April.
Following arrest processing, police released Andreotta on a written promise to appear on July 22 in Danbury Superior Court for arraignment on the charges.
I-84 Accident
State police report that at about 12:51 pm on July 5, Joao Pinto, 23, of Danbury, who was diving a 2006 International 4000 wrecker westward on Interstate 84, about one mile east of Exit 9, was stopping so that he could tow away a disabled vehicle.
Tractor-trailer truck driver Eric Johnson, 52, of Cheshire, who was driving a 2001 Freightliner, then sideswiped the wrecker, state police said.
There were no injuries. Johnson received an infraction for following too closely, state police said.
DUI, Additional Charges
Police said they investigated a report of an erratically driven vehicle traveling northward near 151 South Main Street about 9:35 pm on July 5.
Police report they stopped motorist Peter Kraus, 23, of 14 Middleton Road and investigated, after which they charged Kraus with driving under the influence, failure to drive to the right, and making a restricted turn.
After processing, police released Kraus on $100 bail for a July 17 court appearance.
Vehicle Hits Tree
Motorist Jessica Lopez, 33, of Meriden was driving an Acura-brand vehicle westward on Interstate 84 at about 3:27 am on July 6, when the vehicle went onto the gore adjacent to an Exit 9 ramp and then struck a tree, state police said.
Lopez was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, state police said. Lopez failed to drive in the established lane and was driving without automotive insurance, state police said.
Wallet Missing
At about 12:30 pm on Sunday, July 6, a man inadvertently left his wallet in a shopping cart that was positioned in one of the front parking spaces near the Stop & Shop supermarket at Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street (Route 25) in Botsford, according to police.
When the man returned to the shopping cart, his wallet was missing, police said.
The wallet is described as a brown bi-fold model which contains $300 in cash, some credit cards, and a driver’s license.
Its owner is seeking to have the person who now possesses the wallet to return it to the police station. Police received the report on the missing wallet on the morning of July 9.
South Main Street
At about 10:48 pm on July 6 near 286 South Main Street, police said they stopped motorist Fermin Miranda, 29, of Bridgeport to investigate because Miranda had made a motor vehicle violation.
Police said they charged Miranda with failure to drive to the right and with driving with a suspended license.
Miranda was released on a written promise to appear in court on July 22, police said.
Vandalism
Police are investigating an incident in which someone used a large cinder block to damage a vehicle that was parked on Scenic View Drive very early on the morning of July 7.
Police ask anyone with knowledge of the criminal mischief to contact Officer Matthew Hayes at the police station, 203-426-5841.
Watch Found At Transfer Station
Police said that they learned at about noon on July 7 that a refrigerator, which had been brought to the town waste transfer station at 199-A Ethan Allen Road for removal, contained a watch.
The watch’s owner may contact either Patrol Officer Michael McGowan or Sergeant Douglas Wisentaner at the police station, 203-426-5841, to claim it.
Minivan & Sedan Collide
Hawleyville and Hook & Ladder volunteer firefighters, Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and town police responded about 3:30 pm on July 7 to a two-vehicle accident on Hawleyville Road (Route 25) at the Exit 9 interchange for Interstate 84.
Police said that motorist Michela Morrissey, 17, of New Milford, who was driving a 2000 Plymouth Voyager minivan, exited eastbound I-84 and came to a stop at a stop sign at the end of the Exit 9 off-ramp, as motorist Veronica Buecher, 26, of East Haven was driving a 2008 Chevrolet sedan northward on Hawleyville Road. The Plymouth then entered Hawleyville Road, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles, police said. The collision caused travel delays in the area.
Ambulance staffers transported Buecher to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Morrissey received an infraction for failure to grant the right of way, police report.

Breach of Peace
Police said they received a report about 7:35 pm on July 7 that a man who was shouting had thrown a bottle at a moving vehicle on Maltbie Road, so they went to the area to investigate.
After investigating, police charged Jim Pearson, 46, of 25 Maltbie Road with breach of peace. Pearson was released on a written promise to appear in court on July 23.
South Main Street Collision
Police report that at about 10 am on July 9, motorist Edward Sulik, Jr, 67, of Stratford was driving a 2011 Nissan Altima sedan northward on South Main Street, as motorist Judith Schultz, 51, of 62 Old Hawleyville Road, who was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer SUV eastward on Country Club Road, was attempting to make a left turn onto northbound South Main Street.
The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Schultz a written warning for a turning violation.
