Marion H.    Floros

Marion H. Floros, 88, of Fairfax, Va., died April 10 at a Fairfax hospital following a period of declining health.

Members of her family include two sons, Michael T. Floros of Newtown and George T. Floros of University City, Mo.; two daughters, Mary A. Floros of Portland, Maine, and Stephanie Floros of Fairfax, Va.; eight grandchildren; a sister, Alice Mantegani of Manchester, N.H.; nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mrs Floros was born in Manchester, N.H., on July 5, 1917, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Hackett) Havey and resided there most of her youth. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Manchester Central High School.

She was then employed in the office of the International Shoe Company in Manchester.

She entered the US Navy Waves in June of 1943 and served until March of 1946 as a storekeeper first class. She served in Boston, Mass., Portland, Maine, and Casco Bay in Maine.

Following her service she was employed at Grenier Air Force Base in Manchester and attended New Hampshire College of Commerce and Finance in Manchester.

She then married her husband, Theodore G. Floros, and moved to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., where she resided for 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984.

She moved to Portsmouth, N.H., for a short time and then moved back to Manchester where she lived for several years before moving to Fairfax, Va., seven years ago.

She was a member of St Leo the Great Parish in Fairfax.

She was an avid reader and most enjoyed reading to the children of various schools and libraries wherever she resided. She also did volunteer work for many different organizations.

Her funeral liturgy was celebrated April 14 in Blessed Sacrament Church, Manchester. Following cremation, burial took place in New St Joseph Cemetery in Bedford, N.H.

Friends may make memorial donations to the C.H. Booth Library, Newtown.
