AAUW Membership Dinner
AAUW Membership Dinner
The Danbury Area Branch of American Association of University Women invites members, prospective members, and guests to a membership potluck supper on November 9, at 5:30 pm in the Alumni Hall at the mid-town campus of Western Connecticut State University. This will be an opportunity to learn about AAUW branch activities. Interest group leaders will describe their plans for the year. These groups include mah-jongg, morning and evening book discussion, gourmet dining, bridge, and hiking. For information about the event, call Mary Anna at 203/438-3029.
AAUW seeks to promote equity for women and girls, encourages lifelong education and positive societal change. In its current program, the Danbury Area Branch is encouraging appreciation of the sacrifices of the suffragists, underlining how hard they fought to assure women of their right to vote, and encouraging everyone to review the issues and vote in the coming election.
Membership in AAUW is open to all graduates who hold a baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Affiliation with the Danbury Area Branch is open to students and all members of the community, women and men, who are interested in equity, diversity, and education.
