The Brookfield Arts Commission and The Friends of the Arts, Inc., will present their 6th Annual Brookfield Film Festival, “Shorts and to the Point.”

For the second year the festival will be held in The Alexandria Room at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street in Newtown.

Screenings will take place Thursday through Saturday, April 3-5 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, April 6, at 3 pm. A suggested donation of $15 per person includes a complimentary glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres and a program of carefully selected short films from around the world.

The films for this year Brookfield Film Festival were announced on March 19. They are: The Lady in No. 6: Music Save My Life (the first documentary accepted into the festival), The Voorman Problem, Do I Have To Take Care of Everything?, Kismet Dinner, Mr Hublot, Goodbye to The Normals, #30, Jonah and Superman, Spiderman, Batman.

The program is not suitable for children, and an adult must accompany anyone younger than 18.

Reservations are suggested, and can be done by contacting Ann Amorossi at 203-775-2895 or Ann.Amorossi@gmail.com. For those making reservations for six or more, organizers are suggesting that they arrive 30 minutes before the screening begins to guarantee sitting together.

At 109, Alice Herz Sommer was the world’s oldest pianist — and its oldest Holocaust survivor — when she was interviewed for The Lady In Number 6: Music Saved My Life. Released in 2013, the Oscar-nominated documentary short is part of this year’s Brookfield Film Festival.
A short film by Mark Gill, The Voorman Problem features Tom Hollander and Martin Freeman.
