Brian & Krista Trentacosta

Krista Shauna Kontulis of Waterbury and Brian Joseph Trentacosta of Newtown were married on July 2, 2012. Angela Coella officiated the ceremony, which was held at and immediately followed by a reception at The Fox Hill Inn in Brookfield.

The bride, a daughter of Rayanne and John Kontulis of Waterbury, was given into marriage by her father.

In lieu of favors, Brian and Krista made a donation in honor of their guests to Yale-New Haven Hospital Transplantation Center. Krista’s sister had recently donated part of her liver to John Kontulis, so the newlyweds honored “her heroic act, and the wonderful care he received” with a financial donation.

“This way more dads can dance with their daughters at their weddings,” a note left on each table told the couple’s guests.

For her wedding day Krista wore a dress designed by Watter and carried a bouquet highlighted with white lilies.

Cheri LaFlamme of Boston was the maid of honor, and Renata Beaton of Waterbury served as matron of honor. Lauren Hoffman of Newtown, Tara Newmark of Woodbury, and Tracy Trentacosta of West Haven were Krista’s bridesmaids.

Brian is the son of Linda and John Trentacosta of Newtown.

His best man was John Trentacosta of West Haven. Brendan Murphy of Massachusetts, Matt Nealon of Massachusetts, and Chris Beaton of Waterbury were ushers.

Victoria Bertone was the flower girl, and Nicholas Bertone was the ring bearer.

Krista is a cum laude graduate of Southern Connecticut State University. She is employed as a teacher in Waterbury.

John is a graduate of St Anselm, and is employed by Family & Children Agency as a social worker.

Following a honeymoon in Aruba, the Trentacostas have returned to their home in Waterbury.
