It can be said every year that, when Lathrop School of Dance (LSoD) presents its Stardust Revue at Edmond Town Hall, there is “the best show ever.” This year, with four performances presented June 6-7, was no different.

Some will say they will see the same kind of show every year, but those people standing in the foyer at the end of last weekend’s 63rd Stardust Revue — family and friends, gathering and talking about how great the dancers performed — proclaimed that this year’s offering was “the best show ever.”

There is such a variety of dancing offered by the dancers of LSOD — tap styles, jazz and ballet numbers amaze the audience while hip hop numbers make heads bob. The Stardusters always give top performances and are closely followed by the Jr Stardusters, The Lathrop Dancers, junior and senior dance teams, all the way down through the younger students like the 3-year-old Buzzin’ Bumblebees.

A very large group of seniors this year performed the 2015 Overture Stardust. The studio will see 11 students graduating from high school this month. Many will come back to dance, while others will move on.

Yet there are many students with lots of talent who will still produce the next “best show ever.” Some of those dancers performed “A Radio City Classic,” marching and dancing like young Rockettes. And then the boys returned to perform “The Zach-Men-5,” which is always a hit on stage.

The Diva Den produces nine dancing moms that over the years continue to better their dancing skills and wow the audience with each performance.

This year was no exception to seeing new choreographed numbers, excessive energy, synchronized dancers and lots of smiles from students on stage at the Stardust Revue.

Diane Wardenburg, owner of LSOD, has a plethora of faculty members who help support and teach classes. Miss Tamra Saric assists every day in making the 63rd Stardust Revue “the best show ever.”
