Newtown Savings Bank Announces Five Promotions
Newtown Savings Bank this week announced the promotions of five staff members.
Lynndel Bartulis has been promoted to senior vice president in charge of information technology and deposit services. She joined Newtown Savings Bank in 1999, as vice president of information technology, and expanded her duties to oversee all deposit operations in 2003.
Ms Bartulis led the bank through several systems conversions, entrance into the Internet banking world, and numerous other technological enhancements. She serves as a key member of the bankâs EDP steering committee, and is also a member of the bankâs management team and compliance committee. Originally from Meriden, she lives in Cheshire with her husband Ken.
Dan Long has been promoted to senior vice president in charge of retail banking and marketing. He started with the bank in 1998 as marketing director, and has taken on additional responsibilities for the branch system over the years. He now oversees the entire retail banking division, including the Infinex investment area, and is a member of the bankâs management group. Mr Long graduated from the University of Connecticut with a finance degree, and has an MBA in quantitative methods from Fordham University. He serves as treasurer of the Community Business Institute in Trumbull, and is a member of the New England Chapter ABA Marketing Network. Mr Long and his wife Lisa live in Cheshire with their two children, and are owners of Cheshire Karate and Cheshire Dance Studio.
William McCarthy has been promoted to vice president of finance. Since joining the bank as senior financial analyst in 1999, he has made significant contributions to the bankâs management team and board. His work in asset liability reporting and budgeting has been invaluable to the bank both from a planning and risk-monitoring standpoint.
Mr McCarthy has an economics degree from Fairfield University, and recently attained his MBA at Sacred Heart University, with a concentration in finance, graduating with honors. He serves as a member of the Finance Council at St Rose of Lima Church, and lives in Newtown with his wife Margaret and their two children.
Isabel Boulanger has been promoted to controller. She joined the bank in 1995, and has been a leader in the assessment and monitoring of the bankâs internal control structure. In addition, she has managed the accounting department. Her new responsibilities include assisting in the formation of the bankâs new finance department.
She received her bachelorâs degree from Western Connecticut State University, with a concentration in accounting. She lives in Danbury with her husband Martin.
Nancy Adams has been promoted to assistant vice president. She has held various positions with the bank since 1980, and has managed the busy main office for the past five years. Ms Adams is actively involved in the bankâs community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Newtown Chamber of Commerce, and as an instructor for the Center for Financial Training (CFT). She lives in Southbury with her two children.
