New England folk portrait of a young man in a cutaway coat with ruffled shirt, seated in a red painted and decorated rodback Windsor within drapery swag border on a green ground. Oil on panel with faux decorated frame, 14 by 10 inches. The provenance lists Bihler and Coger and the picture was exhibited at Amherst College, “American Folk Art,” 1974. This work is illustrated in The Windsor Style.
