Botsford Fire Rescue Company, Inc, has purchased a new fire command car for use by the company's command staff. The 2016 Ford Interceptor is a modified Ford Explorer, similar to the vehicles used for police patrol work. The Interceptor replaces a Ford Excursion SUV. The Interceptor has its emergency lights housed within the vehicle. The command car, which typically is driven by the fire chief, is a "fast response" vehicle that is immediately dispatched to an emergency. The car is equipped with emergency radios and basic firefighting gear. The new SUV is shown in front of Botsford's Engine 552, a vehicle that responds to many emergencies. (Bee Photo, Gorosko)
