Andrea A. Rodriguez, daughter of Mr and Mrs Glen Hawes of Roselle, N.J., was wed on December 31 to David L. Uhrlass, son of Mr and Mrs Richard Uhrlass of Poorhouse Road, Newtown, at the Newtown Meeting House. Scott Dunkerton, a minister of the Gospel and friend of the couple, officiated at the ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Jorge Rodriguez of Manta, Ecuador.
Elizabeth Rodriguez, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Myra Avala of New York City, Juliette Abadir of Scotch Plains, N.J., and Karen (Uhrlass) Seager of Portsmouth, England. The bridegroomâs niece, Hannah Seager, served as the flower girl.
Daniel Uhrlass of Monroe was the best man. Michael Uhrlass, Newtown, Peter Huber, Albuquerque, N.M., and Michael Abadir of Scotch Plains ushered.
A reception followed the ceremony at The Spinning Wheel in Redding.
The bride graduated from high school in Manta, Ecuador. She recently received her bachelor of science in international business from Kean University in Union, N.J.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Newtown High School, and of the University of Connecticut at Storrs with a bachelor of science in biology. He is currently employed as a clinical data manager for Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals in Princeton, N.J. He also serves in the New Jersey Army National Guard.
After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple is making their home in Howell, N.J., and will be relocating this summer to Newtown, Penn.
