NHS Percussion Wins First Place In Stamford

The Newtown High School Winter Percussion competed for the fifth time this season at Westhill High School in Stamford on Saturday, March 12, and garnered a score of 88.75 to come in first place out of four teams.

The group has continued to hone and evolve its show by adding complexity to its performance. This Saturday, the group received a resounding standing ovation from the audience.

This is the third time this season the NHS Winter Percussion has come in first place.

The Newtown "home show" of the season, known as the Newtown Winter Extravaganza, will be held on Saturday, March 26, from 10 am to 4 pm at NHS, 12 Berkshire Road. Twenty-six winter guard and percussion teams from schools in Connecticut and Massachusetts will participate. The Newtown Winter Percussion and Newtown Winterguards invite the community to attend.
