Park And Bark Fundraising Continues

Newtown’s Park and Bark dog park is “Good to go!” said Assistant Director of Recreation RoseAnn Reggiano.

While still striving for the anticipated $50,000 necessary to buy and install a fence, water fountains, and other necessities at the roughly two-acre site at the end of Trades Lane below the Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard headquarters, ongoing efforts have already raised close to $18,974.

“Really cool!” Ms Reggiano said.

She plans on having water fountains for both people and their pets, doggy stations with bags for picking up after a dog, and benches within a fenced-in area. She hopes supporters will keep up their efforts and become a Friend of Park and Bark for $25, $50, or more to contribute to landscaping and maintenance; buy a $100 brick paver that can include brief engraved text dedication such as in memory of a pet; buy a big brick for $200, which also allows for a text dedication; fund the fence and buy a ten-foot section with a permanent plaque for $500; or buy a bench for $1,000, which also includes a plaque. Plaques could include the sponsor’s name.

Last are the $2,000 founding fathers contributions, which will be recognized on a centralized commemorative plaque.
