Fairfield County Hounds Hunter Pace

BRIDGEWATER — Fairfield County Hounds (FCH) will sponsor its annual Fall Hunter Pace on Sunday, October 21. The pace offers four divisions – Hunt, Pleasure, Western, and Junior – and a course designed to accommodate riders of varying levels.

“Our annual pace is a wonderful way for riders to see and enjoy the beautiful countryside here in Bridgewater. It’s a unique opportunity to ride our exclusive FCH trails, through field and forest at the peak fall foliage time,” Joanna Dunn Samson, Hunt Secretary and Joint Master of the Fairfield County Hounds said. “The FCH pace offers fun for riders of all levels as well as a competitive challenge for the experienced cross-country trail rider or eventer. The course features inviting jumps of natural logs and small stone walls. All jumps have easy-to-see go-arounds.”

Start times for the pace begin at 10 am; teams must start by noon to be eligible for ribbons. The pace parking/registration is located on Curtis Road, Bridgewater (about a quarter mile from Route 67). Lunch will be provided.

For more information and registration forms for the pace, go to www.fairfieldcountyhounds.com or contact Carol Makovich at cmakovich@fairfieldcountyhounds.org.

Fairfield County Hounds is the oldest live foxhunt in the state of Connecticut, recognized by the Master of Foxhounds Association (MFHA) in 1926. FCH has operated from its Kennels in Bridgewater, Connecticut since 1987.
