Two shows coming in by Jim Koplik Presents will be going on sale this weekend, one at The Bushnell for next month and the other the first show to be announced for the 2005 summer season at The Meadows, also in Hartford.

TORI AMOS will bring her tour to The Bushnell on Sunday, April 10, at 8 pm, Tickets for her show are all set at $41.50 and will be going on sale Saturday, March 5, at 10 am, through the Bushnell’s box office (860-987-5900 or bushnell.org).

MOTLEY CRUE’S CARNIVAL OF SINS will also be going on sale Saturday at 10. This truly magical mystery tour will hit The Meadows on Sunday, August 20. Right now the only band officially announced as an opening band is Sum 41; plenty other others will be added in upcoming weeks and months.

Tickets for that show are $25 for the lawn, or $55 and $75 for reserved seating within the pavilion. Tickets may be purchased at Oakdale Theatre’s box office in Wallingford, and through all TicketMaster vendors. (The Meadows box office will not be open for this on-sale.)

*This week’s reminder is for the March 4 SLIPKNOT show at The Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford. That’s right — the Meadows will be hosting a special indoor-only show this weekend featuring Slipknot along with LAMB OF GOD, SHADOWS FALL and GIZMACHI. Tickets are $35 and doors open at 6 pm.

*I have a few more details about the special Hartford Symphony Orchestra “The Music of Led Zeppelin” concert coming up on April. Tickets have been put on sale for the concert, which will be on Saturday, April 16, at the Oakdale in Wallingford.

The show will feature the full orchestra, along with guest conductor Brent Havens and vocalist Randy Jackson (of Zebra fame).

*Mocha Coffee House, which opened recently in Sandy Hook (in the former Majolica location, right next to the former Red Brick General Store building), is hosting music on a regular basis.

On March 4 the coffee house will welcome RARE OCCASION, a doo wop quartet, from 7 to 10 pm. Admission is free, and there are plenty of refreshments available for purchase of course.

Next week’s featured show will be JOHN VOKET. You’ve read him in The Bee and listened to him on 99.1 WPLR and STAR 99.9… now see what his musical talents are all about. John will be the featured performer, also from 7 to 10 pm, on Friday, March 11.

*Third generation Louisiana musician and Island Records artist MARK BROUSSARD kicked off a headlining tour of the US last month that will bring him to The Webster Theater in Hartford in a few weeks.

Wait! (wasn’t the name of the big hit for 80s hairband White Lion?)

Recent additions to The Webster’s schedule also include WHITE LION and ENUF Z’NUFF on March 13; BREAKING BENJAMIN and THE EXIES the following night; MOTORHEAD and CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, March 15; JEFF TIMMONS of 98 Degrees, March 18; QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, March 26; and L.A. GUNS, March 29.

Also recently added is an April 8 show by MUDVAYNE; and COLLECTIVE SOUL on April 16.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you… on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141.

Shows listed at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
