ANAHEIM, Calif. - Christopher Perry, 22, a 2002 graduate of Newtown High School, earned his 2nd degree black belt during the 11th World Tang Soo Do championships in Anaheim, California, on July 7 and 8.

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Christopher Perry, 22, a 2002 graduate of Newtown High School, earned his 2nd degree black belt during the 11th World Tang Soo Do championships in Anaheim, California, on July 7 and 8.

There were more than 1,500 competitors from 22 different countries on hand and Mr Perry competed in three events – open hand forms, weapons forms and free sparring. He placed second in free sparring in his division (ages 17 to 34, second degree black belt).

Mr Perry has been training in the art of Tang Soo Do under the instruction of Master Michael Porco for 16 years.
