David F. Witty, of Lake Ariel, Penn., died September 26 at the Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit after an illness. His wife of 21 years is the former Mary Canfield of Sandy Hook.

Born in Portland, Ore., Mr Witty was the son of JoAnne Winslow of Bellevue, Wash., and the late Jerome Witty.

Mr Witty was a barista, owning his own specialty coffee brewing business in Washington. He was a Native American Indian and a member of the Kaw Nation, Kaw City, Okla.

He faithfully attended the Cole Memorial Baptist Church in Hawley, Penn.

He is survived by his wife; two brothers and their spouses, Phillip and Patricia Witty of Bellevue, Wash., and Michael and Stephanie Witty of Sacramento, Calif.; his in-laws, Marie and Leon Canfield, Sandy Hook; and brother-in-law, Thomas Canfield, Durham, N.H.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 11, at 3 pm, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, with services by the Reverend S. Mike Eskra. Friends may call Saturday from 1 to 3 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery, Sandy Hook.

Cremation took place at the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel, Penn.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cole Memorial Baptist Church, 711 Church Street, Hawley PA 18428.
